An organized money laundering network in Munich, Hawala has been struck by the Bavarian police and a total of twelve suspicious shops and apartments in Munich and its environs as well as Frankfurt and Saarbrucken were searched. After carefully planning for the raid for months, the Police succeeded in raiding the bases on Tuesday afternoon and made a seizure of about 60,000 euros in cash, several cell phones and various data carriers as well as countless documents related to the illicit activities of the suspects. About seven hundred thousand euros in cash have been confiscated already in various operations in Bavaria.
