“In our country, the three sectors most affected by money laundering are agriculture, real estate and gold mining, respectively. The areas of the North and Far West are the most affected for the agriculture sector, those of the South by real estate and the Central and Eastern areas by gold panning, “said a study conducted by Social Justice. Money laundering or money laundering being the reinvestment of illegally obtained money into a legal activity, these sectors of activity are booming in recent years in Côte d’Ivoire.
