George, 57, of Westwood, has represented a who’s who of clients from alleged members of the New England Mafia to the trash collector convicted in the Cape Cod murder of fashion writer Christa Worthington. He is now accused of helping a former client “clean’’ drug profits in return for a fee. The former client, career criminal Ronald Dardinski, was working as an informant for investigators.
George was also charged with structuring bank transactions to evade reporting requirements after he received $25,000 from a prospective client and made bank deposits of less than $10,000 to avoid documentation of the money. The prospective client, who was referred by Dardinski and was saying he was a drug dealer from the Dominican Republic, was an agent with the US Drug Enforcement Administration.
