After the wife of an Azerbaijani banker was jailed over embezzlement, the court had requested that she reveals the source of her wealth. An Appeal Court in London has dismissed her appeal to conceal the source of her wealth. Zamira Hajiyeva was sentenced to 15 in prison after it was discovered that she had acquired her numerous luxury properties including £16.3 million on Harrod’s London’s famous luxury department store, and two huge properties in the British capital, with illegal funds. The 56-year-old was arrested in November and asked to reveal the origin of her money, however, she is currently defending herself against an extradition request from Azerbaijan.
