The Golden Crown payment system will no longer be engaged in money transfers from Russia to Tajikistan. The National Bank of Tajikistan on Wednesday said that citizens can send their money only through the Unistream and Contact money transfer systems. Earlier it was reported that 80 percent of transfers, primarily from labor migrants, come through the Golden Crown system.
Problems with money transfers began after the National Processing Center (NPC) under the National Bank of Tajikistan for the transfer of funds began operating on December 3. This means that all cross-border transfers, including from Russia, will go only through it, and the NBT will take them under its control. The financial regulator explained that the authorities supposedly want to prevent money laundering and protect local banks and the public from the non-return of money issued by payment systems.
