The Supreme Court in Durban in charge of the former president Jacob Zuma corruption case has issued an arrest warrant following the former president absence from his court trial. Although his lawyer said he was absent due to health issues but was ruled out because there was no evidence.
Ex-President Jacob, who ruled for 9 years between 2009 and 2019 is on trial for a suspected irregularity in the acquisition of arms worth $2.5 billion at the end of the 1990s. Not only that, the court has given an order that the ex-president is prosecuted for 18 offences relating to fraud, corruption, blackmail, and money laundering. It was known that the ex-president resigned from his position due to persistent pressure for his political party in connection with several corruption allegations.
