The driver of the refrigerated truck in which 39 bodies appeared in an industrial estate in Essex (east of England) has been formally charged with 39 counts of homicide and other crimes, police confirmed on Saturday.
This is Maurice Robinson , a 25-year-old Norwegian, who was arrested shortly after the lifeless bodies of 31 men and eight women were found in the refrigerating chamber of the vehicle at dawn on Wednesday, according to an Essex police statement. Robinson will appear on Monday before a court accused of 39 crimes of homicide, conspiracy to traffic people , conspiracy to assist in illegal immigration and money laundering activities.
