US authorities have sentenced Wisconsin resident Robert Narvett to 15 years in jail for wire fraud and money laundering. He pleaded guilty to these crimes in January 2022.
Over the course of 10 years, Narvett defrauded over 70 victims of more than $2 million. His victims included his family, friends, and neighbors. Many of his victims were unable to lead normal lives because the fraud damaged their credit scores. These victims were unable to afford basic life necessities. Some were even forced to re-enter the workforce after retiring.
In addition to the prison sentence, Narvett will also be subjected to three years of supervised release. Additionally, he must pay restitution to his victims as well as a $100 Special Assessment.
